Tranquil Media Center Output Options

Due to copyright protection being applied to many modern DVD disks, known as DVD9 format, and Microsoft Media Player / Media Center 2005 DRM policies, it is NOT possible to play these modern DVD9 copy protected DVDs in any Media Center PC fitted with a TV output card (Composite Video / SVideo) - as it is considered that this output device could be a Video Recorder. This policy is not applied by Tranquil PC, but by Microsoft’s Media Player.

Therefore ALL Tranquil Media Centers will now be supplied with DVI and VGA output options only. The Composite TV / Svideo option will only be available if specifically requested.

This is a better option, as most applications and clients will run a Media Center unit on a Plasma, or LCD screen, which generally have VGA or DVI inputs. The picture resolution and quality is far superior on a VGA screen, and even better on a screen equipped with DVI.

Running a Media Center on a regular TV (Composite Video / Svideo) is possible, if you choose not to use protected DVD9 disks, but the resolution really does not do justice to the Media Center.
